HOW DO I USE UTILITY BALM?
A little goes a long way, so start with a small finger-full, warm between hands, and apply to… well, anywhere on your body. Apply more as needed. Want to get the most out of your Utility Balm? Keep reading to see our 11 favorite ways to use Utility Balm.
WHY DOES MY UTILITY BALM HAVE GRAINS IN IT?
With all-natural shea butter-based products, there is the possibility that the product will develop a grainy consistency. It’s nothing to be alarmed about. You can warm the product in your hands, and it will melt into a smooth balm. Or, try this trick to permanently smooth out the texture.
IS UTILITY BALM SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES?
Beardbrand Utility Balm is suitable for all beard types. Utility Balm has some ingredients with a score of 3 or higher on the comedogenic scale, meaning that it may clog pores when used as a face moisturizer. Utility Balm is suitable for most skin types, but if you have oily skin or are prone to acne, we recommend using Beardbrand Utility Oil as a face moisturizer instead of Utility Balm.
Note: the comedogenic scale is just one of many factors that help us predict how your skin will react to an ingredient. Ingredients derived from plants and fruits are often allergenic, but this is a potential side effect with all cosmetic products — not one that is solely exclusive to Utility Balm. Some people may experience allergic reactions to ingredients used in Utility Balm. Fragrance blends found in beard oils can also cause irritation for people with sensitive skin. Always spot-test a new beard oil to ensure your skin doesn’t react to it.
